Construction of the fibre network is underway!

Construction began in west Sherwood Park and is progressing east, with a projected completion date of April 2025.
Remediation of impacted areas typically takes place following construction activities and is weather dependent.

The project in Strathcona County is fully owned and managed by Alberta Broadband Networks.

We’re thrilled to announce our True Fibre construction in your community is now 90% complete! Thank you for your patience and support as we work to bring you one of  Alberta’s fastest and most reliable fibre network.

Most restoration work is weather-dependent and will resume in the spring as soon as ground conditions allow.

Spring Restoration

As part of our commitment to community investment, we ensure that all properties are restored to their original condition. This includes:

✔️ Soft Surface Restoration – Levelling with new topsoil and planting grass seed.
✔️ Hard Surface Repairs – Restoring impacted concrete or asphalt areas, such as driveways and sidewalks.

What’s Happening Next?

🔹 Hazard Identification – Our teams, along with sub-contractor Victor Energy, have already started revisiting neighborhoods where construction took place in the fall. They are identifying and making safe any exposed hazards.
🔹 Restoration Work (April – May) – Once the frost is out of the ground, crews will return to perform further compaction- re-soil and seeding in all impacted areas.

🔹 We Need Your Help – Once the construction crews come through placing Topsoil and Seed in all impacted areas. Please water these areas generously in order for the seed to take shape.
